The Rage of Achilles

Eleanor Graydon

My humanity is dead. I am hollowed out, leaving behind a devoted husk of dread and rage. I
am now nothing, only an animal scratching at my own flesh. I am empty of everything but
this. Know, that this is my final tether to him. I will fight, and finish, and fade. I will spend
these meaningless seconds, raising rivers of war, against the idea of you. I will hunt you
across battlefields and bodies. Through the halls, the memories, of your home. Until you are
forced to stop. To stand there, where he was, face to face with me. To know that this is where
we will both end. Until all that is left of you is a frightened man, left shaking at my heel.
Where you face your death, in the clawed coil of my hands. I will eat you raw. In the way
that only Gods and the desperate can.
